Live UKIPT Nottingham Qualification
As well as the Online satellites at Pokerstars I will be going to Blackpool ‘G’ casino over the bank holiday weekend for some live play, I will be playing the deepstack £50 + £5 fo on Friday 30th April @ 20:00 and the £75 + £7.50 fo deepstack on Sunday 2nd May @ 17:00 both to tweek my game and hopefully cash. Any cash over £500 will result in a buy in for Nottingham.

Failed to qualify for the GUKPT Manchester which turned out to be one of the poorest fields at only 192, Kuljinder Sidu won the event scooping nearly £54k so well done from the Live UK Poker Tour team. My concentrations will now be focused on the UKIPT Nottingham which is to be held at Dusk Till Dawn which is one of my favourite venues. It is now the home of poker in the UK and I am sure the field will be massive!

Welcome to the first post in the Team Live UK Poker Tour Live Blog, I am currently working on GUKPT Manchester qualification via both the Online satellites on Blue Square and G casino poker and live events.
When choosing your route to UKPT qualification it is a good idea to recognise your poker strengths and weaknesses and to choose your qualification method based on an honest appraisal of your game.
My strengths in order: -
- Live Deep Stack NL Hold’em fo MTT
- Online Deep Stack NL Hold’em fo MTT
- Online 90 seater sit and goes normal speed
- Online 6 or 9 seater sit and goes normal speed
- Live Deep Stack NL Hold’em rebuy MTT
- Online Deep Stack NL Hold’em Rebuy MTT
My weaknesses in order
- Any form of cash / ring game
- Any form of turbo / ultra Turbo (this is just gambling with very little skill, luckiest player wins)
- Short stacked MTT / sit and goes
My GUKPT Manchester qualification will be based on the following routes: -
- Live event, £75 deep stack NL Hold’em MTT at Blackpool G Casino on Sun 11th April, 12,000 chips and 45 minsblinds with up to 150 runner’s
- Live event, £75 deep stack NL Hold’em MTT at Northern Poker Stars Whitehaven Cumbria on Friday 9th April 30 runners
- GUKPT £150 + £12 NL Holdem fo on Blue Square, 3000 chips, 20 min levels.
That’s it, if I do not get my seat for the £324 invested I don’t play! You really have to set limits, there is no point in spending £1000 trying to qualify for a £1000 seat!
